Healthcare Industry Representatives in Operative/Invasive Procedures
Welcome to Huntsville Hospital. We appreciate the service and the information on new technology that, you, the health care industry representative provide. However, there are some guidelines that you must be aware of prior to entering a operative/invasive procedure area.
- First, you must be initially approved to enter our facility by the Purchasing Department. That process is outlined in this education program.
- Second, your presence in each area must always be approved by the individual department's Materials Management or after hours, the Clinical Supervisor.
- Third, new products must be pre-approved by the Department Director and Product Standardization committee before being brought into the department. If unapproved products are used on a procedure, you will not be reimbursed.
- Fourth, all safety and infection control policies must be followed. You must wear clean scrub attire, jewelry must be confined or removed in semi-restricted and restricted areas, and protective eyewear is mandatory when observing procedures.
