Huntsville Hospital ER Entrance Moving Jan. 11

Due to the start of the Madison Street tower expansion project, Huntsville Hospital is temporarily changing how patients come and go from the Emergency Department beginning on Jan. 11, 2025.

Things to know:
  • All ER vehicle traffic must enter the visitor’s parking garage from Gallatin Street.
  • The Madison Street ER entrance will be closed to facilitate construction of the expansion of the Madison Street bed tower.
  • The changes are expected to last at least 18 months.
Signage has been installed throughout the medical district directing drivers to the temporary ER entrance on Gallatin Street. The ER ambulance bay on Madison Street remains open for emergency transport vehicles.

The $150 million Madison Street Tower addition includes 120 new patient rooms designed for critical care, state-of-the-art Cardiothoracic and Neuro intensive care units, a larger Medical ICU, and more.
