Admission to Behavioral Health Services
Patients will receive medical clearance from the Emergency Department physician or medical floor physician. Medical clearance includes; a review of recent required lab tests and stable pre-existing medical conditions.
An Admission Assessment Coordinator will complete a psychosocial with the prospective patient and staff. All information provided by the patient/family member will be reviewed with the on-call psychiatrist to determine an appropriate admission and treatment plan. When appropriate, family/collateral contacts are part of the assessment process that is performed by the Admission Assessment Coordinator. The Admission Assessment Coordinators are available in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Medical emergencies should be handled by calling 9-1-1 or by visiting the Emergency Department.
