Radiologic Technology

24-month, full-time Radiologic Technology program operates Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. First year students attend Tuesday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and second year students attend Monday­ - Thursday 8 a.m. - no later than 4 p.m.

Goal: To provide the profession with clinically competent radiographers

Student Learning Outcomes:

• Students will apply accurate positioning skills
• Students will demonstrate knowledge of radiation protection
• Employer and graduate surveys will indicate the program prepared the graduate to be competent entry level radiographers

Goal: Students will communicate effectively in the health care setting

• Students will determine the appropriate changes in technical factors
• Students will be able to adapt positioning for trauma patients.

• Students will demonstrate professional work ethics
• Employer and graduate surveys will indicate the program prepared the graduate to conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner

Tuition

• $550 per quarter (8 quarters)
• $250 annual technology fee
• Books and uniforms are not included in the cost of tuition or fees
• The program does not participate in Title IV programs

Fees

• $60 Professional activity fee (quarterly)
• $25 criminal background check (required for admission)

Refunds

• If a student withdraws from the program within one week into a quarter, a full refund will be made.
• Between the 2nd and 4th weeks of the quarter, a 50 percent refund will be made.
• No refunds will be made after the 4th week of a quarter.
• No refunds will be given to a dismissed student.

Is financial aid available?
Depending upon availability, funding may be available for the The Dr. Thomas and Sharon Bell Radiology Education Scholarship. This scholarship is available to second-year students to include tuition and technology fees. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

The program does not participate in Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs.

Huntsville Hospital Education Loan
Enrolled students will be offered an Education Loan Agreement for necessary expenses for tuition, fees, and required curriculum textbooks to meet the requirements incurred during the course of study. As consideration for the loan, the recipient will agree to accept an offer of full-time employment as a Radiologic Technologist at any HH Health System hospital upon completion of the program. Employment opportunities pursuant to the agreement shall be limited to departments that are operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Students must agree to work immediately after graduation and remain in a full time Radiologic Technologist position for eighteen (18) months.
