About Our Laboratory Services

Huntsville Hospital Laboratory Services offers a wide range of tests to help physicians diagnose and manage patient conditions. Tests must be ordered by a physician. The two most common requested tests are for blood samples and urine samples. Depending on the type of test your physician orders, tests may need to be performed at a specific time of day and/or require diet restrictions. No appointment is needed for lab testing. The results of your tests will be sent directly to your physician. You may receive separate bills from Huntsville Hospital and any physician whose services are required (pathologists, radiologists, etc.).

Our community-based lab is committed to the mission of improving the health of our patients. We offer a comprehensive test menu and rapid turnaround times. Our testing sites and Patient Service Centers are subject to the standards required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and maintain current CLIA licenses and the required State of Alabama licenses. The Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Our staff of certified medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians, along with a supportive team of caring and highly trained employees, performs more than 4.3 million billable procedures annually and processes more than 15,000 specimens per day.
